Plants are one of the important elements in constructing a Lingnan Garden besides architecture, literature and paintings. The types and the placement of plants in the garden are exquisite. As Lingnan Gardens are located in the subtropical region of China, there are various types of plants suitable for planting in the garden during different seasons. 

  

In order to portray and reproduce the environment of Lingnan Garden, also as we aim to help the audiences to acquire knowledge of Lingnan Gardens’ plants, information will be provided in the section such as Lingnan Gardens plants’ types and characteristics, differences from the traditional gardens in plants and the ways of placing plants to achieve ornamental and practicality.

建築、文學、繪畫、植物皆是嶺南園林的重要元素。其中植物作為構成嶺南庭園扮演着重要的角色，嶺南庭園的園中植物不但種類繁多，從精巧的園林佈局亦可見造園者的巧妙心思。 嶺南庭園位於中國廣東省的中部及東部，屬於亞熱帶地區，因此在嶺南庭園的四季都適合栽種不同種類的植物。 

 

爲了描繪和重現嶺南園林的環境，同時希望藉以幫助大衆認識嶺南園林的植物，我們會介紹嶺南庭園植物的種類及特色、與其他傳統庭園的差異、放置和擺設植物的方法等，希望向大衆介紹有關嶺南庭園的植物知識，並體現出植物具觀賞性和實用性的特點。
